Russ Poole is a young and very talented singer/songwriter.  He writes music that is vibrant in texture and emotion... we have had the honor of working with him on several occasions and hope to again soon.  His passion for music and sense of humour make him a pleasure to work with.

Russ is currently touring the Gloucestershire area so if you'd like him to appear in a place near you then you can follow the link above.

You can listen to some of his work below:

"Beautiful location, relaxed atmosphere and friendly people!

Several of my songs have been recorded here so far, and I don’t need to look elsewhere. After a couple of hours in the studio I had my song starting to sound better than I thought it could sound!

I cannot fault the recording, mixing or mastering that was done here, these guys will work hard to ensure any recording session produces fantastic results.

If any band, musician, singer or songwriter wants top quality recordings at a great price, this place is perfect."

Josh originally came to Rural Studios as his girlfriend bought him some studio time as a Birthday Present. After recording his first track he is now back with his band working on new and fresh material.

This is EVO, a singer songwriter, originally from Cardiff but now plying his trade in London. He came to stay and record for the weekend. Once we got the tracks laid down and were happy with everything we perfected anything that needed perfecting and then started work on the production and the mastering. In between were a couple of late nights, quite a few pizzas and just a few beers. All in all it was a fantastic weekends recording!

Have a listen to Evo's music above. We are happy to announce that he'll be coming back to do some more recording and production with us. Check back soon!

At Rural Studios John recorded a selection of songs on the lyre from around the world and spanning many genres; from 'House of the Rising Sun' to 'Nite Kelefe', an Albanian folk song.

John is now in the process of turning the works into a new album called 'Pale Blue Rock' - if you would like to find out more about John have a look at his website.

"My recording at Rural Studios was organised by my girlfriend (who knows nothing about music!), as a birthday present. With the help of Jon and Rich over the phone she was able to organise it easily.
I felt very relaxed and calm throughout the process because of the beautiful surrounding county-side, and the engineer, Rich; who was making sure that everything was well organised before we got there and during the recording. I will defiantly be returning to Rural Studios to do more work." Josh Hopkins 2009

Iain and his band Recovered came down from Birmingham for a weekends recording. The weekend was a big success and it helped that the band were relaxed and a lot of fun to work with. You can find out more about them by visiting their website.

Sarah is a singer/songwriter originally from Cheltenham. Her music has a wonderful melancholy, in a style not unlike Vashiti Bunyan.  Her voice and style of acoustic/folk will leave you wondering. She has recently moved to the South East and we wish her the best of luck there, and hope she will be back to do some more recording with us when she returns. You can follow Sarah on her new MySpace page.

"Their specially created sets mean there are great mixes of tracks
"it really is a fun and rewarding experience playing to people and watching them throw caution to the wind, who said men can't dance!
Abi, Recovered vocalist is daring and always up for being the first one to break the ice while Tom and Robo get lost and lock in.
Tom handles the drums with experience, taming the beast is not in his nature as is Robo's approach to rhythm when he uses precision and skill to keep people dancing, if that's not enough then guitarist Iain Gough strums with an attacking force drawing you to the stage and before you know it it's your round at the bar..."
"Having never been in a recording studio environment before, Rural Studios provided a fantastic first experience where I was made to feel perfectly at ease. Seeing how everything worked was a lot of fun, and I am already looking forward to my next visit."

Craich Handed are a traditional Irish folk band made up of a guitar, fiddle and vocals with some flute to follow shortly. Their music really does tell a story and it has been great learning about these traditional songs. They will be recording their album here in 2010 at Rural Studios so check back soon for more...

As well as the regulars we currently have Nights of the Circus and the ever popular band Massai recording at Rural Studios. Please check back soon for the progress on these bands, you will be able to hear some examples soon!
